GETTING YOUR BILINGUAL CLASSROOM READY FOR BACK TO SCHOOL

Welcome Poster

Whether your first day of school is in August or September, it’s never too early to get your classroom ready for the new school year. While working through your classroom preparation checklist, remember the importance of having a welcoming classroom for all students, especially those learning English for the first time. With schools in the U.S. continuing to change to reflect our country’s increasing cultural diversity, creating an atmosphere that reflects acceptance and diversity right from the start is essential. (Check out our blog post about 5 Back to School Tips – Bilingual & Multicultural Classrooms.)

With that in mind, Language Lizard always strives to provide educators with the appropriate resources to help develop literacy skills among English language learners, build inclusive classrooms, and celebrate cultural diversity.

Over 60 Languages

With over 60 languages available and resources that range from bilingual board books to talking dictionaries, we have a wide variety of materials to meet the needs of students and educators alike. We are continually adding new languages to some of our most popular languages.

Bilingual Book Sets

We are excited to add Dari, Pashto, Ukrainian and Russian to our 5 and 10-book sets and our 4-book PENpal starter sets. These bilingual book sets are an easy way to begin a bilingual library and enjoy an assortment of our most popular bilingual children’s books cost-effectively.

Wait, there’s more!

With our new Premium Collection resources, we have added a lot of fun activities to accompany our free lesson plans. Activities include crafts, word searches, and more!

Don’t forget that Language Lizard has a YouTube channel with lots of great companion videos which complement many of our books. These videos are short and engaging and support language learning in the classroom and at home. For instance, did you want to know more about howler monkeys and their sound?
