New Bilingual Book Celebrates Friendship

Our newest title, Feathers and Friends, is a beautifully illustrated story about two immigrant children from different backgrounds who become good friends based on their shared interest in birds and creative arts.

Follow along on their adventure as Sami, originally from Afghanistan, meets Rosa, who comes from Ecuador. They soon discover that Sami likes to draw and Rosa likes to write, so the two friends embark on a project to create a book of all the birds they see. Written by Diane Costa and illustrated by Joyeeta Neogi, Feathers and Friends celebrates friendship, discovery, and nature.

“Feathers and Friends explores a beautiful friendship between two children that inspire each other to see the world in new ways. Themes of creativity and connection are woven seamlessly into every page, celebrating the magic of nature. A heartfelt and visually delightful story, it leaves readers with a sense of warmth and inspiration.”  Ellen O’Regan, First Grade Teacher

Feathers and Friends includes access to a detailed lesson plan, English and Spanish audio, and printable activities to support diversity education. It is available in English only and in the following bilingual editions: Arabic, Portuguese, Ukrainian, Russian, and Spanish, with many more languages coming soon.

This book is another addition to our popular Living in Harmony Series, which helps explain concepts of diversity, kindness, and friendship. Other Living in Harmony Series titles include Be Kind, Leo’s Dogs, Together Is Better, We Can All Be Friends, and Who Are We? This popular series is available in many languages and includes teaching resources and audio.
