New Bilingual Book Celebrates Community Bonding

Our newest book, Together Is Better, celebrates the kindness of neighbors and community togetherness through shared activities. Written by Diane Costa and illustrated by Grace Tan, it reflects the strength and vitality of multicultural communities that bond by volunteering to help those in need, visiting with seniors, painting a town mural, and so much more. With simple text and delightful illustrations, Together Is Better conveys kindness and community unity in an easy-to-understand way.

“Together Is Better is a heartwarming children’s book that beautifully illustrates the power of community and kindness. One delightful example is how neighbors come together to grow fresh food and flowers in a community garden, showing young readers the joy of working together. With its simple yet impactful storytelling and a wealth of fun, educational activities, this bilingual book is perfect for encouraging children to appreciate and contribute to their communities.”   Carol Felicio, Education Policy Communications Associate, Washington, DC

Together Is Better includes access to a detailed lesson plan, English and Spanish audio, and printable activities to support diversity education. It is available in English-only and the following bilingual editions: Dari, Haitian Creole, Pashto, Ukrainian, Russian, and Spanish, with many more languages coming soon.

This book is another addition to our popular Living in Harmony Series, which helps explain concepts of diversity, kindness, and friendship. Other Living in Harmony Series titles include Be Kind, Leo’s Dogs, We Can All Be Friends, and Who Are We? This popular series is available in many languages and includes teaching resources and audio.
