Thank you for visiting the Language Lizard Blog!

We want this blog to be a key resource for you – educators, librarians and families – who are trying to teach children about language and culture. This blog if for all of us who support children with diverse language needs.

For years Language Lizard has been offering award-winning bilingual books in over 40 languages. During this time, we have provided multicultural lesson plans along with information about how to support dual-language learners. We have tried to meet the needs of diverse communities and make the classroom more welcoming for families of all backgrounds.

Some of our posts on this blog will review broad topics, such as how to involve bilingual families in the classroom or a review of new research on bilingualism. Other topics will be quite specific. For example, we will post sections of lesson plans that teach about certain countries or holidays, or we will suggest materials to use when teaching a multicultural classroom about counting/numbers. Many of our posts will answer some of the frequently asked questions we have received over the years from teachers and parents.

Look through our posts to find information on…

  • Multicultural Lesson Plans
  • Bilingualism
  • Supporting Dual Language Learners (DLLs) / English Language Learners (ELLs)
  • Bilingual Book Reviews
  • Effective Uses of Dual-Language Books
  • Celebrations/ Holidays
  • and more!

(Use the “categories” feature on this blog for easier searching.)

We hope you will visit our blog regularly and review the new information we have available for you. If you have any comments about this blog, or suggestions as to how we can continue to support you, please visit the “Contact Us” Page at www.LanguageLizard.com to let us know what you think. We’d love to hear from you!
